Description

This is the Yellowstone River. This particular section is in the north end of the park and known as the Lamar valley. The Lamar river (my favorite for Cutthrout Trout) flows to the Yellowstone just north of here about a mile or two. This was taken on a small trail while on my way to fish the confluence of the two rivers. Yellowstone is pretty much one big caldera and you can see the sulpher deposits on the banks.
