Description

I hope that you don't mind if I get a little mushy... Last year was a good year for me. While I felt pretty good about my art, I felt even better about you. It was great to get to know you a little better. So many of you have offered your help and encouragement and I really appreciate that. There's a chance that I might have offended a few of you in the forum. You see, I have a lot of passion about our artform and I want to see it move forward. If I said something that motivated you, even if it was because you were angry at me, cool. On the other hand, if I discouraged you by my big mouth, that's not cool. I'm sorry about that. The thing is, I need you to keep going. We all need someone to take us to the next level. It could be you. I am not going to name names, but there is a handful of you that have moved me beyond art during the last year. To my fractal partner: You had the toughest year that anyone could imagine and you are getting through it as well as anyone could expect. I am delighted that you have found something new to try. Keep it going. You are always watching out for me and that does not go unnoticed. Thanks for that and thanks for letting me unload on you occasionally. To my nephew, who should also be my partner: I still think that you are the chosen one. Your midichlorides are off the scale. You will bring balance to the force. I'm looking forward to seeing more of what you do, better than any of us. To my sister: Like what often happens in very large families, we don't talk much anymore, but I am still paying attention. You had a tough year too. I hope that you and your family are doing well. To my other sister: I have only seen you twice, but when I do I am always left with a warm memory. I'm glad that things are looking up for you and your husband. It was scary there for a while. Thank you for your example of faith. There are others, like one who I am looking forward to meeting and one who always makes me feel good. Thanks. I can't forget about the formula writers. You make life interesting. Thanks for your efforts. Then there is that man behind the curtain. We don't hear much from him anymore, but his impact should not be overlooked. His server hosts the UF and apo mailing lists, not to mention many of the best fractal artists around. Thanks. There are many others who have left comments, IMs and offered help. I appreciate you taking the time to look and making the effort to comment or IM. Thanks to Nick and Barb, for putting up with us, and thanks to the guy that actually runs this place, for giving us all of this free server space. Best wishes to you all, Keith

A beautiful colour palette. I love the soft, "shy" spiral in the middle. A cheerful render.

...and thanks to you, Keith, for your thought provoking comments in the forum, for your inspirational fractals - which have certainly made me try harder to get to grips with UF this year - and for sharing this beautiful image. Very Best Wishes to you for 2006.

Although I go my own way, there are a few who inspire and delight me always. Thanks for being one of them :) This one leaves me (nearly) speechless with its beauty.

Dear Keith, since the first day I saw one of your fractals, you've been one of the few people who've inspired me, pushed me to better myself. The only time I get angry at you is when sometimes you seem to lose confidence in yourself. Just go on being who you are and doing what you do; you're one of the greatest. Thanks for being there :)
