Description

I must confess that I am obsessed with this new environment that I am working on. The details are extreme good fun to do, plus there's the chance to work out the proper work flow for a state-of-the-art noodle shop. I've got cooking on the back counter (for simple side orders) along with most of the preparation work; then the soup/stock is at the end wall; with final condiments and mixing at the front counter. There's also a pass through window for dirty dishes, leading to the back kitchen for wash-up and an area for cold storage. Experimenting with a bit more lighting. I'm fascinated by how we take for granted multiple shadows in an artificial lighting setting. Ran out of energy to set-up all the lights in this environment. There's a lot more to this kitchen than meets the eye, but I'm not going to say too much more. If you'd like to see further developments please visit this thread in the Developers Forum. Your input is always welcome. Thank you very much for taking the time to view this image.

This is looking cool, how about some ordering keypads/monitors to relay orders to and from the chef from the tables/counter, plus some video phones on the wall inside the restaurant are always handy for inviting people down for a bite to eat :-)

You never cease to amaze my friend. It has an atmosphere about it, even as a clay render.

Really great work, Moe! In order to do this job right, did you have to read up on restaurant design or layouts?

Hey Jarm, the order monitors can be seen in Moe's previous images of Feng's Noodle Shop. By the way Moe, this is one incredible detailed modeling prop you got going. Brilliantly done as always my friend! Happy New Year 2006!

Put it into a flying sempan and we go Bladerunner. Just one comment: Since it is a noodle shop, I'd expect wok-friendly gas burners.

Nah... wok's are for fried noodles... not on the menu. Think "Tampopo" as a source reference. Both "Fifth Element" and "Blade Runner" are exceptional, but I don't want to copy... I just want to be inspired. :o)
