Description
I used a long shutter speed of 25 or so seconds and a high fstop for this candle-lit picture of the same candle thing I posted yesterday. That one was lit by two mini mag lights I moved (thus painting w/light) around the jar during the long exposure rather than a flame as in this photo.
I found the results of the first one especially interesting, if not as dramatic as this version, because the glass subject is typically highly reflective like a mirror under "normal" lighting conditions but it didn't reflect anything except the actual light source when shooting in the dark, illuminating the surface without actually capturing the reflective nature of the thing.

Excellent piece of work, both the candle holder and the capture. Explaining the technique will help all of us learn and grow together. Blessed Be.

I did something similar to this with multicolored glass goblet I got a Ren Fair. I zoomed in a bit more though on just the pattern of the glass. I really like the light you captured here. Congrats on getting in "LWITG". :)
