Description

Part of my Constellations series Virus' totally wicked Scorpioman (free! Can you believe it?) with no post on the figure because...well, look at it! In case you didn't know, the constellation is called Scorpius, the zodiac sign is called Scorpio. SCORPIUS IN GREEK MYTH: Orion boasted that so great was his might and skill as a hunter that he could kill all the animals on the face of the Earth. Gaea, Goddess of Earth, was alarmed by his reckless statement, and decided that Orion must be killed so that he could never decide to prove his claim. Gaea sent a giant scorpion to Orion and ordered the beast to sting him. As mighty as Orion was, after only a brief battle, the scorpion delivered a deadly sting to the hunter's heel (at the star Rigel). Orion and the scorpion were both given honored places in the sky, but were placed at opposite ends of the great sky dome so that they would never engage in battle again.
