Still needs lotsa work but I wondered what people thought so far. Right now trying to tweak the ecosystem to get rid of the tree in the water

Looks good already. A simple trick for your "problem" might be to use two terrains instead of one. For each side of the river one and an Ecosystem on each. But of course challenges like yours bring us forward.
