Description

It never rains...... it pours! Ain't that the truth! In the news recently, you may have heard that California was going thru yet another major storm and some areas were bracing for flooding and mudslides. That was the downside of the storm...... on the upside.... Mammoth Mountain Ski Area recieved 95 inches (sorry about my metric disabitity) of snow in a 48 hour period!!!!! Only one other place broke that record and that was in Colorado where they got 75 inches in a 24 hour period! That's a lot of snow people!!!! :P This is a picture of our side yard. Here in the boonies we received about three feet of snow... which isn't bad except our area was without power for 36 hours!!! Okay, now I want you all to turn off your computers for 36 hours so you can feel the actual horror of this RR addiction!!!!!!! LOL :P Anyway, we are safe and enjoying the new year, now that power has been restored! I look forward to catching up on all I've missed , this weekend! Thanks for viewing and your comments are always welcome and appreciated!!!! Hugs! Kim

ROFL!!! HAHAHA!!! Just the thought of keeping lappy turned off for 36 hours gives me the chills. Im glad you made it out of that despair alive my friend. 3 feet of snow just like that? Wow! Must have been quite a storm. Can ya imagine how much nordic skiing you can do now? If only you had Eija to drag you along the tracks. #;o) Have a wonderful winter-day Kim! #:O)

Oh wow, 95 inches, don't need any metric approach of that, that is simply a HUGE amount! Incredible! 8 feet of snow is quite something providing nice skiing possibilities.... Impressive work, Kim! Glad to see your power is restored anyway! :)

Good Lord!!! Now that is a whole lotta snow. Glad you're safe and warm. Was wondering why we hadn't been seeing or hearing anything from you. I grew up in Titusville, Pa. Which if you look on a map, you'll see how close it is to Lake Erie. I've seen some pretty fierce winters up there. I even have some photos of us getting hit with 3ft of snow in under 30 minutes of time. The kids loved it of course. But I'm sure glad you're safe and back with us now. :D

Somehow I expect the branches to break any second. Thank goodness I live in the "banana belt" of Oregon and seldem have to contend with deep snow. A lovely view, though, and thanks for sharing.

yipe 95*2.54=~2.42m!!!! wow - that's a lot of snow I might say, but at height that's not a wonder! anyway, that's not funny when it comes of cities!!! I might say that that tree suffers a little along with its human neighbours!

Excellent wintery scene Kim... it's so pretty when it first comes down like this. I love the tree against the sky. Snowy day skies have that luminosity...that blue light...that you captured so well here. Love it! So glad you are ok and heck with a fireplace, I hope you have a snowblower! lol :-) +++++
