That's ashame that they are erasing such beauty. They are doing that a lot in my small town. :( But this is very beautiful. Hugs maria

That's such a shame! That's happening where I live, too. It used to be rural and now we have a bunch of subdivisions.

I hate to hear that. In some places it is hard to believe that every second the size of a football field of trees are cleared away. I learned about that last weeK at the Zoo. The amazon And many other places. A beautiful B+W of these winter trees.

Do not believe the two football fields a sec. do the math and it will not add up the earth will be bare in a week or two...but I saw this stuff going on here in La. but people houses was been torn down to make way for a 4 lane highway. Real good shot

Very sad about this animals...the B&W adds to the sense of melancholy. Fantasic capture and emotions !!!

very sad. I really have to say, that I have always hated developers. Too large a population of two legged critters and too small a planet, along with too much greed and opportunism. Here in Santa Fe, developers pretty much rule. They are powerful and very good at greasing palms so their outrageous developments get passed. This is a sad and melancholy image. Really good shot and sentiment.

Richard this is a wonderful photo, but such a shame to tearing this beautiful place down, a typical attitude for 2 legged critters,so sad but true,an excellent shot****

Awe such a shame! You should see here in Florida. Because of so many people moving in to our state :-( They are pushing up just about every tree in sight to build houses...houses I might add that I could no longer afford to buy because of the astronomical prices. They are even evicting the poorer people (in trailer parks) to build condos. I think black and white really captures the mood well. I love this because it has really struck a nerve with me as I watch my Florida, even the rural northern areas slowly being consumed to make way for MORE people.

What a great capture. I hate hearing about us taking land away from the critters. When will we learn to start building UP instead of OUT!

I can't add to what everyone has said. You did catch the sadness of a doomed slice of nature.

Excellent image Richard .It always makes me sad and angry to see pieces of nature and home of many wild creatures beeing offered to man
s pleasure .Here in israel we
re very concious of preserving nature (at least some of us are ) because we live in such a small country and are now building up instead of spreading out .kchristine
Very dramatic. Why I love b/w so much.
