Description

Sorry about the quality of this image, but I think something went wrong with the downsampling. The original is very much bigger and a lot sharper. Can anyone suggest a nominal render size to produce optimal quality. It seems that above 3500 pixels is best, but I'm really not sure? Thanks for stopping to view. Any comments appreciated.

Very nice job , i love your pw skills, the grass looks great, i usually render @ 4800x3600, but i think bigger is usually better, it just depends how long you want to wait

Usually 5000x3750 for me, but a lot depends on the way you do postwork (sharpen, gamma, etc.) Very beautiful render btw !

Actually a very nice classic looking piece. Reminds me a lot of artwork done by the first people who "went west". As for the post work...it really depends on the type of detail in your image. Fine detail on distant terrain features usually requires a larger render to preserve it. Closeup features can usually survive with a smaller render. The most important thing is what you do after you resize. I use one golden rule...Always sharpen last...after any and all color adjustments and resizing. If you look at my gallery, all but one of the images there were rendered at twice the size you see posted...at 2000 x whatever. It also helps to have some really advanced sharpening tools. Each image sharpens differently so I try a number of tools to see which works best for that image. The ones I use are 1.Crisp Image Pro 2.July 20th -Dynamic Range Workshop 3.Ultra Sharpen Pro 4.Power Retouche. All really excellent tools.

I love the surfacing here, the foreground grass reminds me of the grasses that are rather dry and when you walk through them they crunch... Excellent POV and beautiful terrain....

Realistic and incredibly beautiful! Superb lighting and clarity of color, and I love the point of view and grassy tundra. Excellent work in all aspects!

Excellent concept and pw - pic looks ok to me, although the f/g looks a fraction pixellated - still a lovely piece of work :)
