Nope...I bought myself an SGI ZX10 which was built for Maya so this bayboy rendered in under a minute. I still have to add veins to the eyes and bumb maps for the lips, gums, and eye sockets. But its not bad for a highschooler right?

Awesome!! I laughed myself silly at that movie, and this DEFINITELY should be one of the monsters. Great job!

Cool model. Looks like a throwback to some Big Daddy Roth "Ratfink" style characters. My question is this. How does a highschooler get his hands on a copy of Maya? Got a daddy big bucks? I would kill for a copy.

Actually i work for an a Broadband Internet company and im also a freelance webdesigner / webmaster. I work hard for my money. At the end of the summer i had enough for an SGI Zx10 (which was built for Maya) so i also bought a copy of Maya. Dad played no role in that.

Shreder - good for you! I AM jealous - I'm also scared that you are the wave of the future - teenage millionaires, with great talent. well done. Jerry - Admit that you're jealous... A good webmaster earns shedloads. Yes you made some good points about the model, but he never claimed to be the modeller - just someone testing out the tools available in Maya 4. We have all loaded up models to try out textures, effects, lighting, etc. If you don't have one of your own, you grab something off the nearest CD... CHILL OUT!
