What I quoted is a famous Dutch poem of a poet called H. Marsman (1899-1940). It's about the wide rivers in Holland finding their ways through the vast flat land.
I think this picture clearly shows what he was talking about.
The photograph is taken today with a 300 mm tele with 1,7 x converter.

Does that ferry say 'Leendert Angelina' on it? I've never been to Holland but I hear it's gorgeous. Thank you for showing us your beautiful country. It's very nice to see images like this.

The 'Leendert Angelina' from Zwijndrecht! :) Wonderful work, Oskar, both picture and poem, just love it! With only little difference in altitude these rivers meander through the landscape as slowly as one can imagine!
