Hi, I'm Jackie and I live in NE Nevada.
I'm married to the CyberGooch www.cybergooch.com/ and aside from the fact he is my partner, lover and friend, he is also my favorite artist. I (not so recently) inherited his old Sony DSC-F717. I shoot whenever I can. Our son has also picked up on the family tradition and won "best of show" in the youth category at the fair. My Brother in law, Brent Alexander (a fantastic photographer http://brentalexander.com/ ) recently told me I was using a camera from the dark ages. While this may be true, I find it works for me while I'm still learning the art. I wish I had more time to spend viewing the photos of others as so many are inspiring and challenge me to try harder.
Thank you for offering critique and advice. That's why I'm here!
Jackie

How about you giving advice. This is great. Good timing on the wave. All I can suggest is keeping the camera well covered.

Good capture. I usually end up taking a whole burst and hoping one will turn out good.

Very kewl shot here, well captured and timed! I shoot a lot of ocean shots, make sure you cover your camera and lenses always around the water. Wipe all your equipment down after each shoot especially your cam..it hates water! Pay close attention to the waves while shooting them, one sneaky one can ruin your day or life...Other than that go gettem! Aloha!

Oh wow, love to see those waves splashing on the rocks! Perfectly timed! As Punagay says so... take care you've material to wipe the lenses and closer to the salty seawater it might turn out you get some salt water on your lens and usually it's leaving traces on the lens. Telelens is handy, you can keep safe distance and still shoot safely, but with overcast skies the llight is only little so you might need a tripod. Keep up the good shooting! :)
