------------- Old Streets
In many places of the world, the old still clings to the city streets like the fungus growing on the ancient oaks in the park. The old feeds a need to be connected to something that came before, something that is unchanging and solid. But that hope is as much a delusion as the belief that change for change's sake is good. But in a few instances, in a few places, and they grow fewer every day, what is old endures because it was right made the first time. Some parts of Boston, Washington DC, even New York City are such places, places where the young can go to absorb the wisdom of their forefathers from the very cornerstones they set down, if they would but do it.
