Anybody who has read the books of Patrick OBrian or C.S.Forester will be fascinated by the ships of this period. Few of these wooden vessels have survived the centuries. Computers and 3D design programs are new tools in the hand of artists to manage the challenge of realistic seascapes. My website is dedicated to show an attempt at creating classic seascapes with new instruments.BIOCheck out my website www.age-of-sail.com

Very nice image. One of the better ship renders I've seen on 'rosity in a while. Everything seems to be done pretty accurately. Looks like you have done your research, unlike other artists rendering this genre. The only crit I might say, a small one, is there might be just a little bit more wake after the ships, the white water you have is good, but even at only a couple of knots, these vessels would still leave disturbed water, not necessarily white wakes, but there would still be a noticable distubance. But, that is really the only thing I would change. One question: can you tell me where you got the frigate models? Did you build them, or purchase them? Could you let me know? Keep up the good work! (If you want more inpiration, check out the artists on: www.scrimshawgallery.com/ Online Gallery/ Paintings and Prints. Look over the works of Geoff Hunt, Geoffery Hubband, Charles Vickery, and John Stobart...)

The frigate is my own model. Its based on plans of the Pandora, an english frigate. I used MORAY for the model and POV-Ray for rendering. The model is very detailed and took a lot of my spare time.
