cool - nice environment. the characters and lighting are solid, but you should add a bump map to their clothes or reduce the highlight settings, the white shirtsleeves look a little too shiny and 'plasticcy'. cheers, -gabriel

I slapped this together for a school project, It took a total of 10minutes to do. I only really like the background

for 10 minutes of work, you did very well, while the people look plastic there are really great points as a whole the background is outstanding... the raft and the way you posed Jim and Huck very well done ..wouldn't mind seeing this completed as a total art piece....

I agree with the other comments about the characters looking plastic. The background is good, but the lighting of the background is completely different from that of the characters, and there's no background/foreground interaction -- the people don't cast shadows, they aren't reflected in the water, their raft isn't causing any surface disturbance, etc.

Well, the shadows are thrown forward onto the raft, since the sun is at their backs. Also the Mississippi doesn't reflect too good since the speed of the water (trust me, I live by it), and at that angle you wouldn't see much of one anyway.

I love the sky and water. Great job on the characters as well :)
