Description

Continuing with this wave series, I turn my camera towards the other end of the beach to try and get some contrast in the waves. The light in this direction helps some with the colors of the water in the wave, but blasts the color in the shadowed area around the wave. The wind has started to come up blowing straight off shore holding the face of the waves up a little more. The tide is coming up and the waves are getting increasingly larger....tomorrow I'll post some shots of waves breaking in deeper water. Still cleaning up my camera from all the salt spray...thank goodness it has some weather sealing! Canon Mark II....100-400 IS lense @ 400mm Thanks for your gracious comments on this series so far and I hope your not getting sick of these yet...Aloha!

@ ModestyB...Kalapana is the beach area where this was taken...it was over run by lava about 20 yrs. ago and the beach was reformed about a 1/4 mile out from the original beach. Nalu is the Hawaiian word for waves! Aloha!
