Taken on my trusty Canon Powershot A95 ()
Not that I support bullfighting - i only went because my girlfriend's father wanted to see one, and we got front row (and i mean FRONT row) seats through a contact. Once in a lifetime opportunity to see a bullfight in Madrid's spectacular bullring (tho not the best in Spain i am told).
Anyway i have some action shots (one where the guy with the hooked sticks is midjump right next to the bulls horns about the stick them into the bull) but this one stood out as to me it portrays the contest in many ways.
Hope you like it!
Thanks for your comments over the past few weeks to those who have posted, and thanks to those who are yet to post any on my shots =)

obviously provoking some reactions so:
you may say it isnt a sport or be horrified at it, but it is a contest between bull and man. I doubt any of us here (regardless of whether we agree with it or not) would want to face a charging bull knowing that one mistake and our intestines are on the floor. When i saw this it was a great sadness to see the change in the bull from the start to the end. However one of them managed to tip over the (padded) horse that the Picador rides and was close to goring the man on the floor, and the matador was floored twice, so it is not as one sided as people are led to believe.
Anyway this picture for me represents the bias of the sport. A test of man's intelligence and technology (albeit rudimentary in the form of the sword) against the basic instincts of an animal, it is obvious who the winner is meant to be. The picture for me also represents the celebration of the 'sport' through the colours of the suit the matador is wearing. And the last and probably most important thing is alluded to in the title, it signifies the brutal death of an animal.
Hopefully this sport will change into what they also practice - recortes - in which a bull is put into a ring and they dont kill it but professionals then do acrobatics over the charging bull. Amazing stuff to see!

Sorry, I feel like if you went you supported it. This is a well done pic of a horrible "sport".

I agree with terrypom, not a "sport" or a "contest" just barbaric.
