Description
Finally this piece just before the new year but added a few improvements to it so I guess I really finished it in 2006. I still think it could be improved but overall im happy with it.
Your views would be really appreciated. Thanks
Haltek.

Outstanding image. The textures are realy over the top, and the lighting is well done.

Yep a night scene was the original plan but I felt a day version would be more challenging. I've rendered it again (x3 bigger) and will def be working on a night scene. Thanks for all the kind comments - its really encouraging.

Superior in every way! And I like your texturing of the ships in the foreground! Wonderful immersive pov!!

Love the pov and the ships. If it is not a secret technique, would you mind telling us how you did the heat trails on the ship exhausts?

Just like to thank everybody for the kind, encouraging and informative comments that i've had for this piece and the others in gen. As to the heat trails! well I did 99% post work in PSP9 as im more comfortable using that, however PShop5 has a filter that renders an image in that kind of way like looking through uneven glass. So i opened it in PS5 duplicated the finished flattened layer and applied the filter. I then erased all other parts of that layer - except where i wanted the heat trails, and left it on top of the "normal" layer. Hope it helps. H/TK
