Description

My dearly departed Dad used to grow Dahlias and not just one or two plants.....he had a field of Dahlias and I so loved those gorgeous flowers!! He had some that were as large as dinner plates, and the most incredible shades of fuschia and burgandy!! He was constantly working to grow new varieties and though he was not a horticulturalist, he could grow the most amazing flower varieties! Sooooo, when this fractal showed up among the mutations I was playing with, I immediately thought it looked so much like a Dahlia.....This is for you, Dad. Rendered in Apophysis with slight post in Photopaint. Thanks so much for all your time in viewing and your inspiring comments!! Peace. :-)

Had a friend named Dahlia once. Named my Bass after her and painted one on it. Yours are beautiful and you should think of getting with an instrment maker to see if you can get your work airbrushed on some of them. Could see some rockers strutting across stage with your work on thier instruments now.

So this is the first...and now I know why. What an honorable tribute...I think he would like looking at these digital ones too; but not as much as the real ones.
