Fairy Castle (4) and the story about the Trees
Part 4
The Castle is surrounded by a French garden and lots of ponds, canals and little lakes.
Just like the castle, the gardens are 100 years old and constructed in an area with only wetlands and meadows. 100 years ago there were hardly any trees in the area, but the owners surrounded the French garden and the Castle with a English landscape garden, loaded with trees!!
By finishing the restoration of the Castle, 100 years ago, they wanted to have an English garden landscape with trees, not young small trees, but tall trees with character!! Around the castle many trees are now well over 150 years old!!

A wonderful shot of the castle, and the intro is very interesting. It amazes me that mature trees were transported in such numbers back then - they are incredibly heavy and even today with specialize machinery it isn't an easy job. It makes one appreciate the beauty of the area and your excellent presentation all the more.
