Description

The tide continues to come in and the wind is picking up. Salt spray is everywhere, and I'm starting to get a little concerned about my camera eating all this salt. I'm having to continuously wipe my UV lens off from the spray. The ledge that I am shooting from is no longer a safe haven as the splash from waves is ever present as the tide rises. A couple more shots, I keep telling myself, but my safety must come first....can't focus on the waves with one eye, and look for danger with the other. Might be time to move along... Thanks for having a look and your kind comments on my previous stuff! Have a tolerable day at work tomorrow, unless your Andreas who gets to kick it at home! Aloha to All!

Hmmm...I might have to take a picture of you shooting the High Surf. Not a good idea to stay there. More high surf warnings are out. Excellent shot. Aloha

An awesome death defying capture. The powerful wave frozen in time with the wind whipped spray make this a powerful and dramatic image. I also get nervous with my camera around salt spray. Excellent and Aloha!!!!

I'm not sure which has a deeper effect... the color or b&w. But boy do I like them all. This has more of a 'fine art' feel to it for me. I love how it seems like there's liquid silver coming to life. (Thanks for keeping yourself safe too. Even though I'm known to do things like that myself. Always better to be walking away from a shoot very happy than not.) Fantastic. V

Look like liquid concrete. Amazing how every wave has its own distinct character. Great series. Now get outta there before one of those big swells takes you down! MAS4EVA!

Yay, this is ARTWORK! Love it! Dave, you know how to capture these things, pushing it to the edge (sometimes it's great to be on these places with someone else, able to warn us whenever it is necessary to find a safer location to keep dry)! Excellent work, it's really very beautiful and I enjoy seeing these waves very much! We don't have thos roller coasters, since the North Sea is entirely different from the Pacific Ocean and the fresh water (our's tends to be more brownish) makes it all even more spectacular! :)
