Description

The xtalian tree snail is usually quite gregarious with friends and business associates, but will retreat into its shell when startled or has found interesting new software. ISP pulled the plug for five days. Amazing how much I got done! Started using xenodream. This is some results, layered into Photoshop.

Hi there Misha; What a truly striking image, I am in awe of the colors and details to the ferns. Which program was this that you used? Your skill in it is true delight.

Thank you all for your nice comments! :-) Most of the stuff here was done in a relatively new fractal program called xenodream [http://www.xenodream.com]. Their web site has some examples. The program is really slick with lighting and coloring, but does take a lot of patience figuring it out. Detail in the original 3200X2400 is amazing. After rendering the basic figures in xenodream, I then pasted and arranged them in Photoshop. Any similar program that uses layers would work here. I did some color adjusting and sizing to make everything look right together. The "eyes" were painted by hand. I made the "bamboo" in Bryce because it was quicker than painting, and (the way I paint) more realistic. I added the water drops at the end, using an EyeCandy plug in for Photoshop. [I haven't really decided yet if I like the water drops. May remove them. Opinions?] I don't know if this is the best gallery to post this in (or mixed media). But since there is a lot of fractally stuff here, this is where I sent it.
