Description

This place is for visitors, who visit Mammoth Cave. In our area, if they don't want to sleep in a Motel, they can sleep in an authenic Wigwam Tee Pee. I never have, but this is an older shot and thought I would share it with you. Sorry it's been so long since I posted something, just been so tired:( Good news is, I am in complete remission from my colon cancer, but do have to have surgery to remove this other nodule from my Right Lower Lobe. I have set up an appointment date, to get it scheduled. This means at least a 5 day stay with chest tubes and possibly more chemotherapy. I am just now recuperating from the previous treatments in November. I am just so tired and weak you all. It has really taken a toll on me. Any and all views are appreciated. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. Love 'n' hugs Susan~

I know how tough the last few months have been for you Susan and you have my utmost respect for hanging in there. I'm so pleased you're in remission. Just take that extra few steps and I'm sure that in six months time, you will have recovered enough and have the energy to live your life to the full again. Beautiful capture my friend, I wish I'd lived in a Teepee in Texas, even if only for one night. Steve :o) V!

your strength that brought you this far will carry you through this newest ordeal. I can imagine not being able to eat and on top of that having the health people stick you and gouge. Years ago I think there was some of these in Oklahoma on route 66 but now only in New Mexico/Arizona. excellent capture Susan and if it helps this one friend pulling for you

what a wonderful picture, Susan!!! I LOVE it!!! Ya know what?! This is where kemal and i stayed for one week on our first vacation together before we were married! Yep...we slept in one of these teepees! it wasn't too bad...i mean, it's VERY basic and not as nice inside as a regular hotel room. then again, we found it kinda charming! :) We stayed here for a week and had a blast exploring Cave City!! ooooh, you're bringing back some wonderful memories for me, Susan!!! You're almost tempting me to get out some of my old pictures and scan them! i HATE scanning though! Anyway, i'm glad your cancer is in remission, but i'm sorry you're so drained of energy. you're talking about a nodule on your lung? oh honey...i'm sorry you're gonna have to go thru all that, and i pray that you will have the strength to do so! I know you will...just take it one day at a time! Rest as much as you can! i hope you have home health coming to help you! Sweetie, you just focus on giving your body all the rest it needs. little by little, day by day...you're gonna get your strength back! u eatin' honey? hope your appetite's good! some biscuits 'n gravy...bacon...tomatoes...yum yum! :) Know i'm thinkin' about you and keepin' you in my prayers!!! Love ya, sis!!!! huge hugs! sheila

To quote Edgar Rice Burroughs, "While we live, there is hope." Keep hanging in there, kiddo! As for the picture-- wow..... I've seen images of it in "odd Amricana" books but I never knew someone who actually saw one. Love the stain glass frame you gave it.

You definitely are in our prayers, Susan! We are glad to hear you are in remission, and we wish the best for this next treatment for you. God bless you, Susan, you are a trooper. As far as the teepee, I'd rather just sleep in our time share condo at Tahoe. ;o) sorry... hehe.... teepees aren't my thing.

Nice slice of Americana, Susan. A glimpse of the vanishing tourist attractions from the fifties and sixties! I remember much more of this type of thing in the Horse Cave region; less so near Mammoth. Nice to know some of it has yet to be replaced by outlet malls. Take care, and BEST WISHES!

I have never slept in a Tee Pee but I do go to a lot of Pow Wow's. I have been in remission since 1999. Battled breast cancer for three years. I know what you are going through my friend. I will add you to my prayer list and pray for a full recovery!! May "The Favor of God" be upon you now and forever!! Hugs Diane

Yea.. Cement TeePee's with air conditioning and TV.. Geronimo would have just loved it.. lol (except for the portability part) I was at mammoth caves about 18 years back and went on their special spelunking tour.. got to crawl all over.. into places the public can't see or reach.. was exceptional fun... Super pic and frame.. brings back great memories.. (The image, not the frame..hehehe) So glad to hear your in remission. Hang in there Susan and get this behind you soon! Let me know when your back on your feet and I'll buy ya Bryce-5.5 to celibrate (you've mentioned several times your desire for that program). Big Hugs and warmest wishes for your full recuperation! Dave :^)

He,He, you've got me wondering around my freezing cold kitchen on a windy Scottish Island in the middle of winter at half 6 in the morning debating wheather I would actually like to sleep in a tourist tee pee. Mmmm don't think I would really like it. I'd prefer to find a real one somewhere!. Beutiful colorful WARM picture Susan & I love the frame. Glad to hear you are in remission & all the best for the other op & treatment. xoxo
