The upper part of this image is based on the area around Central City, Colorado, U.S.A.
....the lower part of the drawing is based on the fact that most of the contenental U.S. was under the sea at one time.

Great illustration, and very unique! I have always thought of seals as being very "Dog-like". This one reminds me more of a pig? Thought the flange things were ears, but now I see they are flippers? The expression is rather angry. Love the rocky hovel worked into it's upper part! The strong verticle composition really adds tension!
