Description
I need some help on this one, please. I've re-calibrated my monitor, and I would like to know what *you* see. The darkest band on this spiral (yeah, another shiny spiral) should be the color of a ripe plum, or eggplant.
I'm not too happy with the green, but can't seem to find another shade/hue that pleases me.
Honest C&C welcome:)
Thanks,
Panny

Plum is what I see under those marvelous textures. I think the green wants to be teal. ------------------------------------------------Just a word of advise: If you have a print source that you are used to working with, you might want to judge your new calibration with a print. Good luck, Panny!

I see eggplant on my laptop, almost grey on my big monitor. Looks like I need to calibrate mine, too. I like the green, and the other colors. It looks almost translucent.

I see a lighter, browner shade of eggplant on my desktop monitor. To me, the green is grass-green, and the purple is -- umm -- purple. No sarcasm intended; I just can't come up with a good simile.

Lovely shinning spiral Panny! Bravo! I'd say plum is a hard color to obtain, but this seems to lean just a tad to brown, yet the purple is a perfect grape. A FaerieFriend has a nice set of calibration jpg's here: http://faeriewylde.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?t=15210

I am seeing a brown, almost chocolate at its darkest; a lovely purple, nearly balanced, not too blue nor too red; a drab yellow with some green mixed in, at it's darkest almost light olive; and a green that is nicely clear and balanced, at it's darkest almost evergreen tree green. It's a beauty of a spiral, lovely and shiny :)

I agree with Dennis. His description seems to be the closest on my monitor. Your suggested colour of a ripe plum is certainly more of a brown. Your green is a bit brighter in tone to the rest of the colours and maybe you need to drop the saturation or try increasing the blue and red. If you look at the shaded areas (just at the edges of each coloured section) you may notice the green sections throw a much lighter shadow to the other colours. This would indicate a lighter tone. Overall Panny, its wonderfully detailed and I love your pearlescent texturing. It certainly caught my eye.

I love the way you use light and iterated coloring, Panny!
