An unusual Lockheed F-117A Nighthawk... and yet a very patriotic one! I was very fortunate enough to see this gal in action for the very last time. Call it a historical moment and historical photo, after this airshow the F-117A '782', which is one of the few remaining very early F-117A models not retired, was to be grounded and become a gate guard for Holloman AFB for the rest of its life.
So, what's with that American Flag scheme? Well, I don't know the occasion for it's painting, but I was told some time ago it had to do with a ceremony and a Air Force General.
Taken with a Canon Rebel XT EOS 350D DSLR Camera (8mp) and a Canon 100-400mm USM IS F.45L lens.

Pretty good paint job. Couldn't help but count to make sure that it had all 50 stars (it does!). Must have been cool to see that flying overhead.
