My company is currently documenting the natural world into 3d virtual reality, they are interactive in the browser, if you have Java enabled.
They are education oriented with 3d pdf also with some animated gif to be compiled into e-book.
http://www.3d-assets.infoBIOI have been in the art business for over 17 years, started as an Illustrator, Art lecturer, Model maker/ sculptor and 2d/ 3d imaging.
Thanks to 3d tecnologies, we are able to document histories and stories into interactive digital format for the next generation. I am proud to provide reuable accessories to the next generation just like writers who wrote dictionaries, photographer who snap the pictures and my turn to build the 3D in the learning cycle.

It looks like the fur was done with brushes in Photoshop so how does it work in VRML? 2D/3D no comprehende.

Just download the model and its texture maps to see for yourself. Every parts is viewable in VRML, so no fur plug in. I have a Java 3d here: www.3d-ebook.com

I found that the renderer is much slower than C3, wonder if this is the case to others.
