Description

I created this image in Poser to honor my then oldest and favorite kitty, Krystle, who was dying at the time of kidney failure at age 17. As a matter of fact, I had her in my lap as I worked on it and was crying the whole time. Time's passing has eased my grief at her loss, but I miss her still for she enriched my life for so long with her gentleness, grace and beauty. Although I have two surviving cats, Fallon and Camry, both of whom I love dearly, there will never be a cat like Krystle. This memorial is dedicated not only to Krystle's memory, but also to the millions of cats, dogs and other animals that have lost their lives through abandonment, neglect, cruelty and euthanasia in animal shelters. Please do your part as a responsible pet owner and spay or neuter your pet and support your local humane society. These wonderful animals have so much to give and ask for so little..... have you hugged your cat or dog today?

Your work brought me to tears. I too had a loving cat who died not so long ago from cancer. Only someone who has been owned by a cat can truly feel your pain and loss. Thank you for sharing this private and emotional moment with us.

If you really love your cat/dog, etc. stop feeding it pesticide laden cooked and canned food which causes cancer and liver failure in domesticated animals (and humas alike). These animals were never meant to eat diets of the kind that we feed them and therefore they display the chronic illnesses which they would never display in the wild. And for those who smoke around their pets/children, your pets need fresh air, they don't have a choice and cannot complain, don't force your unhealthy habits on them by forcing them to breath second hand carcinogens!

As a person who has lost many pets, I'm deeply touched by this image. It's not easy to lose something so close to you and this indeed is a fitting memorial. But remember always the happy things you did with your pet and hold them close to your heart. :)

I had to go THIS far down the "best comments" sorting system of the memorial gallery to find an image that was NOT about the september 11th 2001 attack on the twin towers. I hate to generalize this so much, my own cat is old and dying now, but I do want to make public my indignation: Shut up about this! There are so many other things to talk about! Why don't we leave well enough alone and discuss our cat, like Anim8dtoon here?

I love cats and I have two like yours. 5 years ago I have lost the best cat Harrison by a deep sikness. I will never forget. He was not only gentle and enchanting, but a nice soul and elegant friend. I can feel the same feelings like you. They ar not only pets but very special gifts from heaven to us. I don´t know what to say, because all the words are few to express. let me put your Krystle and my Harrison in the same altar of rememberings. Your image is very expressive and love the figure of the cat in the arms, thanks!
