I think global ambiance ( or best GI, but high render times with this) would've helped a great deal for the shadows. As I mentionned on one of your previous posts, you don't need ultra, try user settinfs instead, because for this scene, you don't need so much AA, and AA is a big part of render times. Cool camouflage! I would've added some bubbles coming out of the vegetation, suggesting some hidden life, just a thought.

Agree with bruno on the settings, Ultra is really not adding anything to your image except rendertime. Then you can soften the shadows, or use some GI (but that really is going to be a long-term render in Vue!). Besides that, I think this is a stunning image, I had to look twice before I saw the little bugger! Excellent work!

Thanks for your tips. I have tried your tip of User settings on the post you just mentioned, but they only increased render times. Perhaps I chose too much AA in that case. In this case I thought AA was quite important as well. Look at the seaweed in the top left corner. Wouldnt that look too coarse with low AA? Concerning the bubbles, its a personal thing. I like to keep things realistic, and bubbles are very rare.

I am suprised there are not many comments so far(Vue gallery seems to have quietened down a lot). I really like the POV here. The position and placement of animals and vegetation is very good and realistic. Keep working on the shadows :o) I will keep an eye out for a future piece.
