My generation had quite a year in 1968. We were "wild in the streets" for love & peace. Woodstock and the Isle Of Man were musical milestones. Storm signals were flying; Mayor Daly's Chicago PD, Kent State, UC-Berkeley, girls ironing their hair to get the long , straight "Joan Baez look." Looming over everything, like an chaotic, intangible thunderhead - Viet Nam. Number 1 heartbreaker for more than just the military.

Saz, oh yeah, I remember those days! I was 17, my brother went to vietnam that year. I remember watching the news, hoping to see him somehow. Never did, but I saw so many others. Strange isn't it, despite all the things that happened it is a time I remember with fondness. It was a traumatic time in history. So many memories. Oh, awesome image! Love the electrified heart! I remember the times and the music. I was in the Navy in '68 and thankful I wasn't in Vietnam. I remember also coming home and being unwelcome in uniform and twice referred to as a baby killer in the airport in L.A. I was in the Navy for gosh sakes!! and just trying to stay alive (which for boys my age meant running to Canada, being from rich family that could send you to college, or already being dead) Too many got caught in that storm. Sorry for the rambling. GREAT POST, SAZ. This one evoked memories and emotions.
