Description

I just came across this oil painting that my step grandmother and i did together when i was there visiting one weekend. I partially credit her for getting me back in the swing of sketching and art after a long break. She didn't start doing any art until her late 60s and we finished this one shortly before she died. Now that I found it, it is hanging on my wall in a place of honor :)

It's a beautiful painting, Vikki. We don't see many Cardinals here, so I'm assuming that the lighter colored bird is the female? In an case, this painting would hold a place of honor in my home too were I lucky enough to have it! You should definitely continue with your art!

This is a beautiful painting of these beautiful Cardinals. I use to se them back East in CT, but I have not seen them here in Oregon. Enjoy the treasure and the memory of this painting. V

this is really amazing and would make for a great book illustration. i don't see cardnals in So Cal, but there is no mistaking that these are truly beautiful birds.
