Dear Andreas, I have never expected you to comment on my uploads nor have I ever sent you a link or get bent out of shape cause you didn't comment or anything like you describe here. I can not imagine what it is like for you to "have to comment". And I think it is pitiful that your privacy and time off can't be respected. I comment on what I can, whose work I like etc. and if I don't get to the rest they will just have to understand. If I don't get to all of the uploads... oh well! I know it sounds callouse but being on dial up and working three jobs plus being a mom does take a toll on your time, plus the fact that this site crawls like a turtle! I think this plan of yours will not work because then you will probably get tons of IM's LOL! Just because you don't allow comments doesn't mean I can't add it to favs LOL! wink-wink BTW? I really like this image! Excellent work! :)

See how loved you are? I must agree with Cullen... Just share as you have time. That's perfect. I, too, will miss your comments... short or long :) Doesn't matter .. In my little mind, you're a big part of this place ... You've opened yourself up to us all through your comments and IM's; that's a quality (I'll speak for myself but I'm sure many others agree) I love most about you. You're true heart and love of people and their art is very special (to me) .. And my god, your enthusiasm is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't put yourself thru so much pressure ... i haven't commented in months; and all I can say is, I wish I had the time to do it all here, too, but ... There are not enough hours in a day. Reality bites sometimes in that respect. But anyway .. Mr Wonderful .. this picture is SOOO COOL. I'd love to know all the specs too -- light, speed, etc... its so pretty and so rich and smooth.. (gawd i hate that i just dont have the photographers lingo down yet lol) its just ......... cool. :) Alrightie............ enuf mush. mwahh!

...add that to Last Week in the Galleries, updating the site...looking at every image loaded, doing the coord and mod forum...I hear you loud and clear. I don't always get to comment on your images, but do see them and appreciate the member you are TOTALLY! Relax Andreas...you cannot do anything more that one day at a time. Oh yeah this is one fantastic image and presentation....sorry for both ebots.

I totally understand how you feel about the time spent infront of the computer, just answering everyones comments. And I'm very new to this area. I leave comments when someone's artwork has touched me in some way. At first I thought you had to have lots of comments from people in order to be thought of as 'something'. I've finally gotten comfortable with the thoughts that I am indeed a good photographer. I may not be the best. But I'm doing what I love and that should be enough. I will miss 'your voice' but will respect what you want. Until then my dear, here's to you. hugs

Andreas, I have read through you trouble, if not through all the posts & comments as I need to get to work ;) ... I guess you have a lot of really good friends here on RR, and really good friends should not mind if you disappear for some time or stop doing something you always did. You might loose some of you fans ... but not the hard core ... personally, if you do not allow comments, it is fine for me, as I love to see your pics and I have little time to comment ;) take care, Ulf ... PS: I value your comment always, but I never expect to receive it on my pictures

What a gorgeous shot,Nanook! And sadly, what a perfect title you have.I wish you didn't feel this way but I understand. It makes sense that you would feel obligated by pathetic IM's such as those.Even though of course, you shouldn't.You do tho',because you're such a nice guy!But I must say,it IS your own fault!Your comments are so sweet and often so hilarious, people can't help but anticipate them! But that still is no excuse for invading your 'breaks',begging and whining for your comments. They are just being needy and selfish, and I assure you,if the situation were reversed, they would not be there for you...as they have already proven with their self-centered behavior. My personal solution has been to only comment on the work of those people who have become important and supportive friends here, and occasionally on the pic that wows me so much I just have to!Everyone else just has to deal without my comments...and I assure you, they do just fine. But it saddens me that you have chosen to disallow them on your uploads.I can understand your logic, and yes, that may work, but I hope one day you will find another solution.I will miss commenting on your pics! Suh! Hmmmm. Din kompis-Marlene f kille MAS.....PS-Kille MAS???That can't be right!Last kor(?)... }:03

I am opposite of you. I feel I don't comment enough around here and I usually don't have much to say except something like "very cool photo!" lol So I will say this is a very cool photo! I wonder did you change the colors in the postwork? How did you do this shot?

OKay so my comments are alot shorter than yours. But your photo's go on forever because of their perfection. You are so talented with your cam and you words. Always having nice things to say and cunstractive crit! We don't care if you don't always have time to comment the fact that we can comment on your brilliant images alone is enough. It's terrible to be popular :} cheeky wink

beautiful shot! this is the reason why I did add you in my favo just some days after loggin in RR: you're a fine photographer. Then I discovered you're also a gentle person, warm-hearted, sharp and curious: your comments are almost everywhere in RR! I often thought of how much time you spend in RR - and you write in many languages too! being so "sociable" could bring some troubles, as you write: but a community is made to socialize. the problem is time: I deleted many favo from my home page because I was getting 30 ebots a day - maybe somebody did get offended, but I always browse those galleries that were in my favo. about comments: your last 10 photos had 583 comments! you're surely happy, but answering must be like a second job for you! No problem Andreas: your silence will not be misunderstood, not by me =) be happy with your family, and let us enjoy your excellent photos! (yes, without commenting it: so what?) hugs =) Claudio

Maybe limit yourself to five comments a week? I love seeing your work but don't feel obliged to comment. If I have time, I do. If I don't, I won't. Go out and build a Snow Man with your wife and friends. Enjoy yourself.Lol.

Good morning Andreas! I agree with you totally. I do not expect comments from you at all! I like knowing that you're here & looking. No big deal that you don't comment on my work. I'm strong enough to know that no matter what I do, it's good enough for me if I'm happy with it myself. Sorry to hear that you're not very happy with RR. I believe we've all been having some problems in certain aspects. I do hope that we don't loose you all together, you're a fantastic photographer, and I didn't add you to my fav. list because of you're comments. I added you because you're good! Hope your day goes well. Big hugs, Velvet.

lololol - and to think that you probably started off on RR as a form of relaxation :-)) To answer your question: Old fasioned photography can be a bit 'onanistic' (I'm sure the word must also exist in Swedish) - in the sense that unless you publish/exhibit no one else will ever see your pictures - a community like this one allows us to 'publish' and to geta certain feedback on what we have done. Sometimes this is technical/comments on the quality, sometimes more a question of appeal, many RR members seem to like sunsets/children/cats rather than more 'difficult' material - no probs with that. In conclusion, it is nice to get viewings /comments, but I don't chase popularity... All the best + take care of yourself

Ha ha, I see you've fallen subject to 'popularity' - sorry Andreas, you are FAMOUS! No private life anymore, but paparazzi (!) everywhere even like me typing comments at midnight and telling you how many characters your typed (did I mention the standard-deviation changed the last half year? LOL!). People love you - oh boy - and you love people (great!)! OK, time to stop all the blahdy blah, time to remain silent                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Ahhhh, that felt GOOD!

looks like my uncovered speaker on my sound system with a bit of an over-extended middle hump to it, sorry dont see a nipple here =P i prefer this one to the other... maybe i am in a red mood - it just looks more "perfect" if you know what i mean. Spose this is the last time i get to say how cool your shots are... well, keep 'em coming! =)

hehehehehehehehehehehehe (sarcastic laugh...) Follow my example, dude, f*** 'em all! I'm getting bored with all those stupid and meaningless comments. I've been saying that since I'm there and you have probably noticed that I've stopped playing that stupid game since a few weeks. Now that the holy incquisitors have burnt our Commander, I really really don't see the interest in continuing all that shit. Stay cool man, all this is just rubbish, you're a talented photographer, that's the only thing you should matter. Ciao...

First of all this photo is perfect. Second I completely understand where you are coming from. I haven't experienced the IM's, but I do know how hard it is to keep up in here. I have many favorites, but hesitate to add more to my list just for this fact. Anyway, your entire gallery is wonderful. I appreciate your enthusiastic comment on my photo "One".

By Crikey ... I agree !!! I would love to comment on other peoples photos but who has the time!! Especially with trying to fit in each days work, playing with my kids, doing ALL the housework, doing as much photography as i can fit into my life, getting enough sleep (& other evening activities ??)(Nudge Nudge Wink Wink), keeping clean, all that shopping (that us wommen tend to do = minimum requirement 10% per day) so with whats left there would be lucky to fit in Maybe 20 minutes online (just enough for a daily upload and a quick squizz at everyone elses photos!! Anyway keep up the excellent work !!! Regards from Louise.

I'm sorry, I just cannot help but smile :D This is all so hilarious! I never understood people who disabled comments on their particular upload (if they usually allow comments) just 'cos they "thought it would be fair, as they have no time at the moment to comment back" I mean, what is that, a trade? Obviously it is for some but I'd never think to care for such individuals. I always allow comments on my pics, even if I know I'm not going to have time to comment on anyone else. And I don't feel like I own anyone a favour just 'cos they commented on my pic. Comments are for those who have the time and who w a n t to leave them, assuming of course that the author cares to hear them. Molesting someone for comments like you described it above is just abnoxious. But "some people just can't smell their own stench", as we crudely put it over here. I used to have a lot more free time that I could spend on browsing and commenting on RR. So I did. I have been known to leave a comment on every pic in someone's gallery, page after page. Now I rarely have the time to pop in, but I wouldn't dream to "explain myself" to anyone. I love to read comments by people I know and have fun with but it's both on my own or anyone else's uploads. That's most fun for me, a witty, goofy, totally abstract and crazy sometimes, dialogue with 'the gang'. An upload is just a pretext, an impulse to have that dialogue. I guess it just depends on what one's expectations are, on what kind of response they need. If you want opinions, 'cos you don't know 'where' you are with your work, you appreciate 'helpful comments'. If you want to have fun, you want it to be fun for everyone. And if you just want some back patting, you waste your time to write IM's butting into other people's life and choices. But that's just sad. And it sure is no reason for the molested one to feel bad. A really beautiful photo, BTW, Andreas :)))
