Description

This my fourth posting of Rembrandt related images. The painting in the left upper corner is called 'nightwatch'. It certainly is one of Rembrandt's most famous, largest and most important paintings. The other images are taken at the Rembrandt Ice Sculptures Festival in the city of Leiden (where Rembrand was born in the year 1606). I have to admitt that the images are not the best ever. Still I thought they were worth posting. The truth is that the light conditions were very poor when I took the photographs. Just some and not much artificial light. And.. people everywhere.. hard to take a picture when lots and lots of people are standing in your way.. makes it difficult to capture the sculptures right.

I do have to say thank you for sharing these shots with us. I was never into in school, but now am. Would never had the chance to see these without you. Great captures of them all once again.

The ice sculptures are an interesting presentation, but can't match the attraction of the real thing. The balance of interest you achieved here is very nice, though, and some day perhaps I will get to view an original by the master.

Honey, if it's one thing I know... it's people getting in the way. Sometimes all we can do is just grin and bare it. Try giving a whistle or two. I've found that usually draws their attention long enough to realize you're trying to get a shot in. This is fabulous by the way. I'm in awe over this whole ice sculpture you're showing us. Lovely and so intricately done. V
