Very well done, but the boats look too high in the water. Especially the one at the back.

yeah, boats should be "in" the water.

Fantastic sky and I like the mist in the background too...but I have to agree with Nod...the ships need to be more in the water.

Beautiful... i love the attention to detail. Even without the ships, this has a serene and peaceful feel to it. But yes.. i agree the ships need to be in the water. There is one other thing, did you mean to say "Sail"? Lovely work. Thank you for sharing this...

Look'in good. You may drop your ships a little so they sit with more of their hulls below water. Great atmo and sky.

All of the above I'm afraid! Also, they are on a collision course and the flags are flying in different directions......

Ah, no, I don't think so......I guess I don't need to tell you where you went wrong in this image. (why do people post without really looking at their image to see if it is even remotely accurately rendered????? Are they so in need of an ego boost ? Research, Research, Research!!!! Study your subject before you post...

Are they missing the point or am I? I have looked at your previous work and I find the way you have placed the ships on the surface to be quite an endearing and meaningful expression... it gives them a lightness on the water that goes well with the romance you seem to be portraying... only a fool would feel the need to get out the technical manual to these pictures and criticize them in such a stubborn manner. They will probably use the phrase: 'shallow draft' in there report to the Admiralty, but 'shallow' is more than enough of a word to describe some of their thought processes when approaching art. I've done a 'couple' of ship pictures myself, some posted here and some in my own gallery. They always attract these self-obsessed experts, who themselves, usually need the "ego boost" of bullying for bullying's sake, some can't express themselves in any other way, so don't be put off... http://www.peterhague.com/high_seas.html

I'm no expert in fact I just returned a ship model because of the complexity in building the damn thing. I am an artist though, and in my world ships can fly. Nice work.
