Description
This is a variation of my scene titled "Beautiful Water" Image is pure bryce except for some touchups to cover some render artifacts. I tried to make some mist coming of the rocks to make the rain look like it was hitting it, but that didn't work out to well. If anyone has a good way let me know. Hope you like it!

Still, very nice! How did you do this? The colors, dappled water texture, are fantastic!

Splashes or no splashes....this is still one of the best I`ve seen of a river. The transparent water is so beautiful.

Makes me wish I was there... no seriously, apart from the missing splashes, this picture is beautiful

What a great, realistic render! The raindrops look really cool...

You nailed this one! This is a memory I treasure from years of fly fishing when I was a boy . . . and you recreated it in every detail right down to the leaves floating by . . .in a moment the unicorns will splash onto the scene from around the misty bend . . .(that what I always hoped would happen) splashes ? we need particle fx in Bryce! If you turn down the intensity of the downpour and get some volumetric fog placed just right over the surface of the water you may not have to consider the splashes as much . . .than you could paint splashes and apply them to criss crossing planes like the old Bryce trees and scatter them over the water . . . Remember we are artist not photographers!

this is breathtaking. is the rain itself done in bryce? if so how?!

Excellent job on this image. You might be able to simulate splashes in the water by using a terrain for the water instead of (what appears to be) a flat surface. Not sure if you really need to though, a great scene as is!
