OK, had to play with the lighting some more and I also added the shutters. No italian home would be caught dead without green wooden shutters!

the texture on the walls seems a little 'repeating' but this looks cool!ive seen a texture around like that,did you make it yourself? isnt lightwave the one where you can make your own tex?

Actually, the textures for this are made up of bits and pieces of stuff that I've found. You can make your own textures in Lightwave also, but for large surfaces it seems to be better to go with image maps, at least as far as I can tell....

YOu can do great things with Lightwave's Surface Editor. If you know how to use the Procedurals and Gradient in Lightwave, you can do just about anything. Image maps are usually for creating exact details (eyebrows, wrinkles, logos, etc.).
