Description

well it's the last of the sieres some of you you will be going "oh thank god!!!" EWWW lol this thing took me over a week to get it done almost drove me nuts, every time I almost finish it, my pc would crash, even though I saved it it would dissapear to,so here she is in all her glory, from the last shot you can see she had had enough, never thought a spider that heavey with eggs could jump, but she did, thats why the shots out of focus, she scared the hell out of me and she was trying to bite me, but i was more worried that she would fall, and if she hit the ground she was dead, her andomen would blow up literly, i got her on my camera, then while she she was trying to bite me and hang on,i was doing alittle gig, trying to get her back on the bullrushes with out her getting hurt,it took some very heart stopping moves on my part, but she was safe back in her home, as i landed on my back with her very large sister almost crawling on my face, said a few words, but got the shot lolmaybe we'll do sisteract 2,lol not as big, but still huge compared to naormal but for you that didn't see the other's here's what she is for those who missed it, here's what she is Black & yellow Argiope ( Argiope aurantia) males are 1/4-3/8" (5-9mm) in size Females 3/4-1,1/8" (19-28mm)or are supost to be but she put some turantulas to shame in size she was bigger then my hand, over 6" long 150mm her abdomen was bigger then a golf ball, and you can see some of her stretch marks you can see that she bent the bullrush reids which are not easy to do, the one's she's on are over an inch wide, but thanks for all your comments on my last posts,i know spider's gross you out but she was a queen, can't wait till next summer to see her kids and if any stay around oh i hope so i hope you enjoy her as much as she left me in aw @-}-- @-}-- Tina hugs :0)@-}--@-}--

So glad to see you are back again Tina, hopefully feeling much better. These have been great captures, fascinating, a nerve racking feeling though, having a spider like that trying to bite you! Well done and I hope you find her offspring later on in the year!

happy you did not get bite. I got bite a time or two from spiders. I just feel bad for a day from one of the bites and it look like one of thes type that got me sick. the other time I just feel the bite but did not get sick.

I still can't believe how big this is! SAeeing stretch marks on a spider almost sounds like a tall tale but I can see them too! Terrific bravery and coolness, if one jumped on my camera I think I'd just let her have it. Great shots and a great story!

And here I thought I was the only one chasing around spiders in my spare time. I had a spider just like this during last summer. The neighbors no doubt thought I was nuts when they saw me laying UNDER the spider, trying to get a few good shots. You can imagine my immense surprise when this spider suddenly started bouncing it's web when I got too close. I had no idea that they do that when they feel threatened. I've gone to great lengths to get that one perfect shot. Seems you've done the same. Glad to see I'm not the only one who reacts that way too. Fantastic work, my dear. Fantastic!!!!!!! V
