Description

"when we look at art what do we see? what do we remember? what is lost? How is the art relates to us? What do we feel? How we see ourselves as we look at the art? Will it change our outlook on life? will it change our ways? Will it pay our bills? And if it do nothing what good is it? Just some thought for the year. Hope I did not hurt your brain as you read what I wrote. I know a lot of people just look and keep on going. Why is that you ask. Maybe they tried or just burn out on looking at art. Or just do not care or thinking of real life and things going on in they life. many reasons and I know you can come up with some I did not think of. I always miss something. thanks for looking and comments and votes and just thinking if nothing else". thank you solrac_gi_2nd for senting me the right spelling I hope I be better at this spelling [bad English I do not think so]

Very beautiful work. I think I recognize that person coming this way. I wish I could say that art was paying my bills. Excellent thought and art my friend. Aloha

Now this in itself is a great work of art. I love your use of light & shadow in the out of focus. Excellent surreal work of art. Just a thought... I was once told as a child that what we see is not what we see... When you look at somoneone you never really see them just the light reflecting off them. Your piece here makes me thank of that.

Personally, I think art opens up the mind to other possibilities. The variety is awesome, and I tend to enjoy a great many different styles. Keeps the brain fresh! lol q-: Very mysterious and fantastic piece! V (:

In my mind, when we see art we do not have to remember it (though its nice for the artist if we do, lol), but the idea is that it changes us. It makes us different people by its very existance for it gives us a glimpse into the mind of another. That becomes a shared feeling that we could not get any other way. At least it does for the those with open minds. And in this way we learn and grow and are thus able to see the world and life in it through different eyes and from more points of view. Jock, you have the heart of a poet and the eye of a master. My hat's off to you. The image is wonderful!

You have shown in a couple of ways the beauty of art. First in the picture, and it does make the mind start to think. Then in what you wrote. So sad when people close their minds to the beauty that is around them.

We see people looking at art, but we see not what they look at. This is so as not to distract us from them, the lookers who are the art form themselvs.

Good questions Jocko, its good to question our selves and our reaction to art, and then be free to express what it is we find. :) Awesome photo by the way! Indeed it seems to relate the question very well! Bravo!
