Description

Argyll Scotland ^^/\^^ I was first up here on Saturday morning. There was fresh snow steeply banked up the last 40 meters or so to get onto the ridge, covering any signs of a path. Kicking steps up through this stuff was hard work but was exhilerating and well worth the effort. Getting in and about rock scenery like this is just magic, watching the weather close in, and open up again, seeing the cliffs above you disappear and re-appear out of the gloom. Making my way up, the intimidating crags came looming out at me, scary but soooo inviting, all the time drawing me up. They reminded me of the Lions at Trafalgar square from here. ~@~ I'm afraid I think I must be hooked! Its only Wednesday and already I'm hankering bad for SATURDAY MORNING!!!!!!

I see what you mean about the 'lions', Anthony. Not quite the ones in Glasgow's 'Red Square', eh? More an Aslan type, I think, altough the terrain is not New Zealand. Saturday mornings as a youth involved pushing heavy whisky barrels around a bonded warehouse and blending hall, and loading 40' / 15m custom-locked-vehicles ( containers ) for export to the States. We worked from about 0700 till 1600 hours, before heading off home for a wash, a change and a meal. Then listening to the fitba' results on the 'wireless'. Aye that gies ma age away. Regards, John.
