Description
I finished both models enough that they can be used in artwork, so here goes.
I retextured the raiden to give it that war weary look.
As far as the engine smoke goes, I know many people like the billowing clouds with the flames boiling throughout, artistically, that is more pleasing. But, realistically, from all pictures I could find of a smoking engine, the smoke appears very similar to what I have re-created using particles in Max. So, after much research and personal reflection, this is how I chose to compose my rendering of an attack on a B29 by a Raiden. Enjoy.

I think those are great choices. Unless the wing is on fire you don't see much billowing or fire at 300 mph. Really looks super.

Great Image! I agree with your decision to keep the smoke to a minimum. It give a much more realisitic feel to it. Thanks!

Really like the more worn texture on the Raiden. How about some cannon fire damage around the stricken engine? Perhaps more colour variation in the flames/smoke?
