How did you make that white backround? I've been trying to emulate that studi effect for years! arg!!!! Nice chair, by the way. it's erally photoreal!!!

i get that lighting by creating a large inward-facing dome over the scene, cranking up the luminosity on the dome surface, and enabling renderosity. turn the ambient light down (i usually set it around 5-8%). in this image i've also got a single area light set to 18% (casting the shadow). the surface on the floor is just a plain, fairly arbitrary, surface. this setup takes a long time to render, but it produces a pretty nice image, imo.

Wonderful rendering. The woodgrain texture is a bit aliased. There are distortions where the grain is narrow. I'm not familiar with lightwave, so I can't make any suggestions.
