Description

(Shot 02 of 03) The John Knox "The reformer" Statue is based on a Doric style column. Despite the propective distortion, due to the deliberate angle of this shot, this statue rises (62 metres high) and dominates the skyline at the summit of the Necropolis. It was erected in 1825. The Glasgow Necropolis is a Victorian cemetery in Glasgow. Fifty thousand individuals have been buried in about 3,500 tombs. It contains nearly every well known type of architecture in the world, and is literally a city of the dead. Thank you for your time. Gavin Zeno Watson

Super view here, the distortion is only natural and looks so to the eye, gives a sense of how huge this statue is. Gorgeous contrast with the sky, my compliments!

Wonderful capture of this statue on the pillar, the POV shows the tall size! :)

Thank you for the education. As an English teacher, I know about John Knox. Oddly enough, I have never heard or read much about Glasgow. Please go on entertaining and informing us about your great town.
