This is a very powerful image Egmont, as you well know. I did not comment on it before, because as you can imagine, it brings back painful memories for me. I was with my father through both of his open heart surgeries, and it is traumatic on family members too. You talked about the experience with your son, seeing all the tubes they had stock in you, I went through that with my father. When you look at your father, a man you look up to your whole life, and there he is in a hospital bed, with a 3 ft wound in his chest, many tubes hanging out of him......well, enough said...I am just so glad to know you are recovering! Peace!

Welcome back Egmont, even if it is during your recovery time. This image is an excellent poster for reminding people not to ignore symptoms, me included. It is so nice to see a photo of Shahnaz, and that she has been so supporting of you during this illness. That is what wives do you know. Egmont, you are looking pretty good in this photo given the circumstances. Rest and recovery is what I hope you will try to get now.

What a powerfully stirring photo you have presented here!I understand the 'nakedness'.The 'message' is not lost on me,and I want you to know that...I have been there,Egmont. With my Mom.And she had many many complications. What I learned,is we must all have an advocate...someone who will speak for us,when we cannot.THAT is most important.Hospitals are mills...and we need advocates so that we are not dehumanized.I am happy you had your wonderful wife and are pulling thru...you are a great and giving artist, and I wish only good things come your way.So happy to see you posting!Good luck to you!!!!-Marlene :^)

I am happy to see that you recover little by little forces, and that you are back with us. This photograph had moved me already so much when you had sent it to me. But this time even more. It's so good to see you both !!! And to see that once again, the Love leaves gaining this combat for the life. A thing struck me particularly this photograph : your glance. The same one as Giancarlo had in a similar circumstance... I hope that you are able to put back you without suffering too much, and that soon you will be able again to occupy yourself in your marvellous garden and to take again your activities. The life made you a gift which have no price, and left you another chance. Perhaps also that this miracle occurred to make you become aware that it was necessary that you to give another direction to your life, or that you take time to reflect ? I believe that the things doesn't arrive by chance in the life, neither good things, nor the bad ones. And each test, even if it's difficult, must lead us to make choices. The most difficult is to understand which and of knowing interpreter all these signs that we have around us, and that often we don't see... To finish on a note of humour... when I think that you do don't drink, that you don't smoke, and that you have a healthy life.... That gives me desire for depriving to me of nothing !!!!! or to continue to live in the way I live ;o)))))) Take care of you Egmont, and the same for your wonderful wife Shahnaz. We love you, and we miss you !!!! Good luck my friend. Nathalie

My best wishes for a continued recovery. You are so fortunate to have Shanaz as your Guardian Angel beside you. The photo brings back memories of my heart transplant.

I have a knot in my throat, my eyes are filling with tears viewing this image. It too conjurs up memories of my dad, laying in his hospital bed, after his quad bypass! I never saw him this way... he was always my Superman... but after the operation, he was weakened by the whole ordeal! My family and I went thru it all, just as you dear wife has and I can relate to what she had to deal with! I'm very glad that you are on the road to recovery! Take the time to heal and get well!

Thank you for your story. It is one I will never forget. It goes without saying, but I'm so glad you pulled through. You are a very handsome man, and your wife is beautiful. Bless you both, and may you enjoy at least another 18 years together. :)))

I am glad to hear the news of recovery.I believe that now each day you will look at life in such a different way, and forget the hustle and bustle, the ills of the world.Cherish each moment while making time for the things that went unoticed. I am also glad you had good medical care to deliver promt attention to this. I could go on and on with my sentiments, but will just stop it here with my thoughts being silent, and a prayer for you.
