Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

static beautiful with sad empty mood!

At least you did not have to carry the wood to build the hut. The easy sharing of common property will afford a pleasant time up here.

Sweet beautiful capture of this little lake and landscape. Looks like more clouds are forming above you. Ascending 256 ft (78 meters) is not an easy hike especially at that altitude. Aloha

Yes "Terrific" is the good words I think !!! This lake seems to be in suspension between the clouds. So high !!!! You've made a very impressive shot, with a perfect point of view. But Brrrrrrrrrr not a lake to go to swim, lol ;o)))))
Buffalo1
Hmmm. Would that little lake be considered a "cirque," Jan Carel? I was also thinking the same thing as tallpindo. Who builds these huts for the climbers?

I am awed by the imensity of it all and the fact that plants will grow about anwwhere. Fantastic!!!!
Gabrielsdream
I was wondering that too! Is it just a place to rest/shelter in? What are the facilities? Your hikes create so much interest! The lake looks like a huge ice rink...LOL....just daydreaming!!!
hotracer2
You must be in great shape with all this hiking, interesting shot:):)..V

magnifique vu que cette eau doit etre froide !!!

No pollution I suppose, and no chlorine in this natural swimming pool. I don't if it's a cirque, but the landscape is fantastic. C'est superbe et vivifiant, JC !

I wonder if the materials for the huts was hand carried by mules or brought by helicopter. incredible view and capture

Quite a surreal shot my friend, and to think that flowers grow in such an unforgiving environment.

No it does not sound unbelievable.. I know this it the place the real alpines should grow and bloom. What a strange landscape this is.. I always think of the moon when I see this.. Great capture BTW, though very happy I was not with you there... not because of you but because of the height.
Onslow
Oh yes I see the hut - not far now :)

What a lovely natural find! Looks a little cold for a dip, and you must be breathing hard at this altitude...but relief although just a couple hundred meters away is in sight! Must be a welcome sight after some hard climbing...You are certainly rewarded with this beautiful view...take a rest and have some food, looks like you will need your strength! Aloha!
