If you've just started using Terragen, you've captured the atmosphere well, I think. I, myself, haven't mastered Terragen, but this pleases my eyes.

Welcome to the Terragen gallery, Tom! The mountains and depth are impressive, and you have a great start on the surface mix. I would suggest more layers with a gradient of color that compliments and blends (additional earthtones)..and perhaps a bit more bump. Great beginning!
