Thanks everyone :D Just to clarify the 'borderwork' I refer to that is done in The Gimp is merely the rectangular box and all textwork. The horizontal strips at the top and bottom of the image are actually part of the fractal and not done post render :) I apologise if this is obvious but I get the impression from a couple of responses that some may be thinking they are post render work.
