Description

Glen Kinglas from Beinn an Lochan. Argyll Scotland ^^/\^^ Coming up out the freezing cloud layer into unusually warm January sunshine was a moment I'll long remember. Climbing up from dark cold nothingness...no view past about 15 feet, there was a sudden glow in the gloom above me. Moments later I was in another world of light and clarity. The mountains around me lifted up out of a sea of cloud like prehistoric islands. The contrast to a few moments before was total. Alas I had no one to share the moment with, but I was thinking of all the RR folk (slaving away at work no doubt) each time I had the camera out. Almost immedietly though, I had a Brocken Spectre which followed me almost all the way to the top......watch this space to see my strange walking companion. *Queue the spooky music* ~@~ Thanks for viewing

How the hell do you keep finding these blindingly fab shots? Every time I get to the highlands it just pisses with rain.

Hee hee hee Rab no luck, thats the Highlands for you! The secret is not to give up, I've been up this hill many times before but never seen conditions like yesterdays'....warm sunshine and snowless hills in January?

Oh wow, you do not show the world up here so perfectly but your story conveys the experience so well! I would have exactly the same feeling, the RR folks in mind, enjoying this world while the heaven gloom makes you think of enclosing to the other world and then up there the vista unfolds itself and this profound impression is burned in the eyes and memory to a special moment of pure joy! Outstanding work, Anthony! :)
