Description
The carousel, or merry-go-round, was probably the first carnival ride most of us experienced as very young children. Synthetic painted ponies... adorned in bright colors and majestic tack... vied for our attention and made it so difficult to choose the one we wanted to ride. Little girls invariably made a dash for the pink steeds... while the boys preferred the blue ones. Clutching the metal pole that rose and fell in time with the galloping gait... the thrill of the ride was second only to the smiling faces of our moms and dads as they encouraged us to hang on for another revolution. And the music was as heady and exotic as the smell of cotton candy in the dark...

Terrific sense of movement and frivolity, the rising and falling horses that spin in their cirular world are still my favorite ride. Gorgeous dark colors, the carnival aglow at night with the reflections of multicolored bulbs, sunset long past as the cares of the other world become a distant memory.

I can certainly visualize myself on the back of this steed. Very Whimsical. :)
