That's a great well-done tribute to Magritte ! (Nevertheless isn't the contrast between the clear daylight on the clouds and the nighty light of the foreground water, house and tres a little too heavy ?

Everything seems to be in the dark, like it's nighttime, and the sky is blue, so there's something wrong here. Otherwise a very nice render.

Thanks for your comments! To jmherve: I used the moon night atmosphere which comes with vue, changing nothing about the light except taking the lens flare off the moon. The contrast is this big because the moon faces the camera. Personally I like it this way. To bruno: thats whats called surrealism. RenMagritte did the same thing in his painting. Although I must admit, jmherve, that he used a lower contrast between daylight and nightlight.

Wonderful overall, but I too have to chime in with the mis-match of daytime sky and nighttime scene. If you go into the material of your sky photo, you can reduce the Luminous, Ambient and Diffuse to make it a dark moonlit sky. Worth a try. Still I love the artwork.

When I first saw this, I immedately thought of Magritte's painting, and I was ready to critisize the use of a daytime sky in a "night scene" (thinking that it was a mistake, didn't see it that it was in the "surrealism" category.) Then I read your comment, now I'll just give this a vote :)

Very nice work. A great tribute to great painter. Rene Magritte was a master of surrealism.
