Description

I was searching for something to shoot that had a texture for this month's challenge, and found this strange looking flower the other day. Does anyone know what kind of flower it is ? Someone suggested that it was a wrinkled old poppy. But it didn't look very old to me at all !-it was still vibrant red and so full of color! When I think of poppys I dont think red - I think of bright orange, as we have the California orange (state flower ) poppy that is scattered all over the place in the springtime . Big poppy festivals. The mountains are covered with bright orange haha- (I always thought the look of it was like God took his hand and wiped it on the mountainside after eating cheetos..) Well if it an old poppy it fits my interest just perfectly cause, for some odd reason I am drawn to dead or dying plants. Something meaningful about them serving there purpose and saying goodbye to the world and leaving thier mark( does that sound wierd? ) I do not normally post many flowers but something about this one caught my eye . it looked kinda like paper mache! Thanks for all your time and comments on my silly kitty pics playing tug o war!,... love to you all (((big hugs ))) ♥ ~Kimmers ! :O)

Very beautiful macro of this lovely flower. I have seen these in many gardens here in NY and always wondered what they were too because they seem to come in a variety of shades. Thank you for the information ... now I know it is a poppy! Excellent textured look to this... perfect for the challenge Kimmers! :-)
